About The Position

The primary purpose of VP Operations is to oversee Operational performance and activities within all operating assets. This role is a member of the Chemicals - Americas Executive Committee and supports the Chemicals Organization to set and meet strategic objectives. The position is located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental or related fields.
• Must have demonstrable experience planning and managing continuous operations, preferably within the US Gulf Coast region, including experience interacting with local, state and governmental agencies.
• 15+ years relevant experience in industry operations, including 5+ years of experience in managing multiple and/or large-scale units.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with managing US industry labor unions and/or facilitating collective bargaining agreements preferred.
• Working knowledge and experience with state and federal operation regulations; DEQ; EPA; OSHA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent safety and environmental performance, as well as legal compliance in the areas of occupational safety and process safety, and environmental permitting, for all units.
• Responsible for operation of Lake Charles maintenance department.
• Ensure production of planned and budgeted products and volumes, for all units through appropriate operations management, maintenance programs, and turnarounds.
• Responsible for maintaining ISO and RCMS certifications for operating assets.
• Develop annual budgets for cash fixed costs and variable costs for all operating assets, and manage same to achieve budgeted cost performance.
• Represent Sasol by interacting or serving as lead with local community and state industry groups, as required.
• Advise on and approve capital expenditures for Operations.
• Ensure appropriate risk management and corporate governance of all aspects of operations.
• Engage with fellow Chemicals Americas Leadership Team colleagues to influence and develop policy.
• Responsible, with HR, for maintaining and negotiating the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Lake Charles East Plant.
• Serves as the Lake Charles Complex Emergency Manager, in the event of an incident.
