About the position

The Vice President of Payroll Tax at The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation is responsible for overseeing the collection, research, and reconciliation of statistical and financial data to assist in accounting and financial reporting. This role involves preparing financial and accounting reports and statements, as well as inputting and verifying accounting entries. The Vice President will provide financial and statistical data for special projects as required by the unit or section, ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations and payments to third parties, including regulatory and taxing bodies, in accordance with country and regional laws. In addition to these responsibilities, the Vice President will handle payroll tax inquiries related to tax form processing sent down by MyHR, responding to standard payroll tax questions from managers and employees. With guidance, the individual will perform regulatory tax research on payroll tax compliance and best practices, seeking improved and efficient tactics for handling daily transactions. The role also includes contributing to the reconciliation of payroll tax reporting after each pay run to ensure that country tax filings are accurate. The Vice President will be responsible for weekly and quarterly tax filings and for reconciling cash activity to Payroll Administration and the tax service(s) relevant to the assigned country or payroll tax process. The scope of this position is limited to the quality and accurate completion of the individual's own work, contributing to the achievement of country or regional goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or payroll tax.
