About the position
The Vice President of Product Management and Marketing for Roofing is responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of product management, new product development, pricing strategy, and go-to-market initiatives for CertainTeed & GCP residential roofing products. This role involves understanding customer needs, driving innovation, managing product profitability, and collaborating with various departments to achieve business objectives in the residential roofing market segment.
Responsibilities
- Lead product management and new product development for the Roofing Products Group.
- Define pricing strategy and drive go-to-market strategy for residential roofing products.
- Conduct market research and competitive benchmarking to inform product development.
- Develop strategic product plans and align resources for execution.
- Manage product profitability and track sales results for new product launches.
- Direct cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle from conception to post-launch activities.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance to execute plans and programs effectively.
- Facilitate annual product line reviews and rationalization processes.
- Oversee the development of marketing materials and sales tools for product promotion.
- Conduct customer visits to gather feedback and assess market needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive product management, marketing, supply chain, and new product development experience.
- Previous P&L responsibility is required.
- Experience in consumer durables, building materials, or home improvement products industry is highly desired.
- Training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Nice-to-haves
- Polymer science or technical background is a plus.
