About the position

The Vice President of Real Estate and Facilities at Western Digital is a strategic leadership role focused on ensuring a safe and engaging work environment for employees. This position is responsible for developing and implementing the company's real estate portfolio strategy to meet the evolving needs of the business and its workforce. The role emphasizes building a high-performing team to manage facility planning, site selection, capital projects, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the executive team and global stakeholders to develop a strategic vision and implement operating plans for growth.
• Build and implement facility development plans ensuring sufficiency, flexibility, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Manage the real estate portfolio, including negotiating and executing lease agreements and modifications.
• Establish programs ensuring environmental health, life safety, regulatory compliance, and security.
• Oversee leadership for security across multiple disciplines including governance, compliance, and physical security.
• Champion critical infrastructure for facility and equipment needs.
• Build processes and systems for transparent oversight and reporting.
• Leverage data and insights to optimize employee workspaces and real estate portfolio.
• Conduct financial management and reporting for Facilities & EHS, including long-range planning.

Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of global experience in real estate functions, preferably in the technology industry.
• Proven leadership capabilities in managing large, global teams with an outcome ownership mindset.
• Experience leading strategic initiatives related to M&A and Divestitures in a publicly traded company.
