About the position

The Vice President of Relationship Management at BMO is responsible for driving growth initiatives through effective business development and management of key client relationships. This role focuses on revenue generation, compliance with internal controls, and enhancing the bank's brand visibility while ensuring a high-quality client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates growth initiatives for the Bank through significant business development and excellent management of key client relationships.
  • Maintains an outstanding record of significant revenue generation from sales and syndications.
  • Ensures adherence to audit, regulatory, and compliance policies.
  • Develops new business by contacting prospects and clients, and cross-selling Bank products and services.
  • Participates in Bank and community activities to increase brand visibility and enhance new business opportunities.
  • Applies expertise in bank products and processes to ensure a high-quality client experience.
  • Coordinates closing with clients and attorneys as necessary.
  • Acts as a daily escalation resource to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Advises clients on loan products, options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements.
  • Develops and manages Commercial banking relationships and plans for prospective clients.
  • Provides oversight, monitoring, and reporting specific to assigned business group for regulatory remediation.
  • Analyzes financial data to determine client needs for structuring Bank products and services.
  • Monitors performance and addresses any issues that arise.
  • Ensures proper documentation for loans and cash management services.
  • Reviews loan applications and cash management service agreements for completeness and accuracy.
  • Evaluates and structures loan requests, determining appropriate documentation for approved loans.
  • Negotiates terms for credit/cash management services, including costs and repayment methods.
  • Follows up after closing to ensure all documents are completed and filed.
  • Acts as the daily sales contact for clients on sales-related questions.
  • Gathers data to advance the sales process and completes all required documentation.
  • Assists team in pre-sales activities such as pitch preparation and client research.
  • Tracks implementation requests to keep the process on track with timelines.
  • Tracks internal reports and recommends improvements to sales support materials based on findings.
  • Compiles pre-call and post-call information packages for client validation.
  • Provides research and data gathering to facilitate solutions for clients' business needs.
  • Maintains current client information on Bank systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensures accurate billing to clients.

Requirements

  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in a related field.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency in banking products and services.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration and team skills with in-depth experience.

  • Experience in Food, Consumer & Agribusiness is highly preferred.
