About the position

The Vice President, Software Engineering Generative AI at AIG is a pivotal role focused on designing, building, and integrating Generative AI capabilities within the company's global software portfolio. This position can be held in a managerial capacity, overseeing a medium-sized team of software engineers, or as a Subject Matter Expert (Principal Software Engineer). The role emphasizes driving the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) through modern practices such as DevOps and Agile methodologies, while also ensuring the development of scalable cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day activities of a medium-sized engineering team across multiple countries.
• Lead activities around modern software design and development core practices.
• Identify and resolve complex problems/issues and barriers hindering operations.
• Provide technical guidance to employees and support their career development.
• Set priorities and sequence tasks to achieve objectives with minimal oversight.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or proven record of experience in technology roles.
• 15+ years of experience in the technology field, programming, design, and application delivery.
• 10+ years in technical leadership positions.
• Subject Matter Expert for the Software Development Lifecycle, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
• Mastery of a modern scripting language and web application frameworks.
• Proficient in writing queries against relational and non-relational databases.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, issue resolution, system monitoring, and log analysis techniques.
