We're seeking a future team member for the role of Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist II to join our team. This role can be based out of our Pittsburgh, PA - Hybrid (3 Days a Week).

Responsibilities

  • Creates, edits, and maintains API documentation tailored for various personas, including developers and business personas.
  • Produces user-friendly documentation that clarifies complex API functions.
  • Translates technical API information into business-friendly language and develops content for stakeholders who may not have a technical background.
  • Works closely with the product and development teams to document API use cases, benefits, and business outcomes.
  • Oversees and maintains content on the API developer portal, ensuring it's up-to-date, accessible, and aligned with user needs.
  • Handles Crafter Content Management System (CMS) updates, organizes releases of new documentation, and coordinates content changes with the development and content teams.
  • Manages the structure and layout of the developer portal, ensuring intuitive navigation and organized content.
  • Develops content strategies to support a diverse user base, including creating sections for different use cases, FAQs, and best practice guides.

Requirements

  • Strong technical writing skills and proficiency in API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman).
  • Understanding of API concepts and experience writing for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • User-centered content design experience.
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira, CMS platform experience.
  • Knowledge of website management and deployment, familiarity with basic HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with version control and attention to detail in maintaining a cohesive and consistent portal experience.
