About the position

The Vice President / Technology Operations Specialist role at Bank of America focuses on designing, developing, and implementing complex database systems using advanced technologies. This position requires in-depth problem-solving skills and the ability to manage database security and performance, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of database operations. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement complex databases using new technologies.
  • Participate in all aspects of database design including replication, performance monitoring, backup and recovery, scripting, software installation/upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer database users and database security in accordance with enterprise-wide guidelines.
  • Create and maintain documentation of production policies, procedures, server configurations, error logs, maintenance records, and troubleshooting instructions.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate issues affecting systems, servers, and database-related products.
  • Work with Oracle technologies including RAC, ASM, partitioning, security, performance tuning, and memory management.
  • Implement Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Automatic Storage Management (ASM) on UNIX and Linux platforms.
  • Configure physical standby databases using Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery.
  • Maintain replication using Oracle Golden Gate at table and schema level.
  • Perform database duplication using RMAN and participate in Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP).

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation.
  • 3 years of experience with Oracle technologies including RAC, ASM, partitioning, security, performance tuning, and memory management.
  • 3 years of experience implementing Oracle 9i/10g/11g/12c Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
  • 3 years of experience configuring physical standby databases using Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery.
  • 3 years of experience configuring and maintaining replication using Oracle Golden Gate.
  • 3 years of experience performing database duplication using RMAN and working in Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP).
