About the position

The Vice President; Technology Operations Specialist at Bank of America is responsible for overseeing complex system engineering activities, providing technical support, and ensuring the integration of various subsystems. This role requires a deep understanding of middleware technologies and the ability to communicate complex solutions to diverse audiences. Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities.
  • Establish input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total systems.
  • Function as a technology subject matter expert able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors.
  • Install and configure Middleware servers utilizing technologies including WebSphere Application Server, Tomcat Server, Jboss, Apache, WebLogic, and OpenShift, in production and non-production environments.
  • Deploy, support, and migrate business-critical java-based applications on Linux and Windows platforms and utilize Control-M for ongoing job scheduling and MicroStrategy for reporting.
  • Work on Python, shell, java, and ansible scripting to automate day-to-day operations.
  • Analyze and evaluate the performance of Middleware servers and gather application-related information to troubleshoot and improve performance.
  • Review Venafi certificates installed on middleware technologies for multiple applications to ensure protection against potential threats.
  • Design and develop new proof of concept projects to enhance current middleware systems to handle increased traffic and larger datasets utilizing terraform, openshift, Amazon AWS, and docker.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, CIS, MIS, Engineering (any), or related field.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation.
  • 5 years of experience in installing and configuring Middleware servers utilizing technologies including WebSphere Application Server, Tomcat Server, Jboss, Apache, WebLogic, and OpenShift.
  • 5 years of experience in deploying, supporting, and migrating business-critical java-based applications on Linux and Windows platforms.
  • 5 years of experience in utilizing Control-M for ongoing job scheduling and MicroStrategy for reporting.
  • 5 years of experience in working on Python, shell, java, and ansible scripting to automate operations.
  • 5 years of experience in analyzing and evaluating the performance of Middleware servers.
  • 5 years of experience in reviewing Venafi certificates installed on middleware technologies.
