About the position

The Vice President of Training (VPT) at Paragon Systems, Inc. is responsible for providing strategic oversight for all training, certification, and professional development initiatives across the company. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety and weapons regulations, managing training audits, and developing comprehensive talent management programs. The VPT collaborates with corporate and operational leadership to enhance team skills and competencies, ultimately contributing to the organization's financial performance. The position requires establishing training performance metrics and ensuring alignment with business objectives to drive growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in training, organizational improvement, and performance enhancement.
  • Analyze development needs and implement programs for contract compliance, customer service, and employee growth.
  • Set training organization metrics aligned with financial targets and optimize training efforts accordingly.
  • Work with operational leadership to maintain a clear organizational training structure.
  • Coach and mentor training and operations teams, providing guidance and support.
  • Ensure compliance with legally mandated training requirements and maintain training integrity.
  • Contribute to sales and profitability growth through effective training and compliance measures.
  • Analyze and manage performance through key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Develop needs-based curriculum and conduct training in various settings.
  • Manage key training programs and ensure effective delivery of training initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible training management experience in law enforcement or security.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a large team (10 or more).
  • Ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance and maintain required clearances.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain BATFE FFL Responsible Person designation.

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth knowledge of business processes and success factors.
  • Advanced knowledge of effective performance improvement and training methods.
  • Experience with instructional design and the ADDIE model.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and e-learning platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
