About the position

The Vice President of Transportation Operations is responsible for overseeing all on-road transportation operations within the enterprise. This role focuses on leading process development and execution to enhance service, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in transportation operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the Transportation Operations is meeting the needs and goals of the enterprise.
• Develop strategies for transportation operations that aid the enterprise in achieving growth targets and desired business outcomes.
• Oversee the development of the budget and metrics ensuring good stewardship and standards for service, quality, safety, maintenance, and overall operational performance are maintained.
• Maximize the efficiency of Transportation Operations and streamline operations.
• Work with software development to develop efficient and necessary functionality within the TMS and direct the implementation of new functionality within the transportation operations function.
• Develop relationships with customers and carriers as needed by the enterprise.
• Ensure the Transportation Operations remains in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
• Understand, negotiate, and execute contracts as required with the Transportation Operations function.
• Develop top talent as part of overall growth and succession planning strategy of the enterprise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field of study and/or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in a leadership role within the third-party logistics (3PL) industry.
• Knowledge of ISO regulations and OSHA safety requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Superior problem-solving skills.
