About the position

The Victim Advocate position at Safe Exit Initiative (SEI) is a full-time role focused on providing support and advocacy for individuals affected by commercial sexual exploitation (CSE). The advocate will work collaboratively within a team to deliver recovery and treatment programming, ensuring that guests have access to essential services and support in a safe environment. This role requires a commitment to trauma-informed care and the ability to assist guests in navigating their recovery journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Provide zero-barrier access to services at Harbor, ensuring it remains open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Work with guests to develop and implement goal-oriented case plans based on their needs and aspirations.
  • Meet guests individually on a weekly basis to provide support and guidance.
  • Identify appropriate resources for guests and advocate for necessary services.
  • Coordinate medical and behavioral health services through health insurance.
  • Encourage participation in community activities.
  • Provide leadership, advocacy, and mentorship to guests, staff, and the community.
  • Deliver crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Guide guests on various pathways to recovery, including Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR).
  • Complete required documentation by the end of each shift.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, trainings, and supervision as assigned.

Requirements

  • Lived experience with commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) preferred but not required.
  • Active/valid Driver's License and reliable transportation preferred.
  • A personal interest in and commitment to working with women impacted by CSE.
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to various personalities and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proactive, solutions-driven mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to guiding guests in creating their own recovery plans.
  • Understanding that recovery and treatment models must be individualized.

Nice-to-haves
