About the position

The Video Content Creator (In-House) position at Wilwood Engineering involves creating a variety of video content focused on vehicle brake parts and systems. The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to work in-house and is looking for growth opportunities within an established aftermarket automotive company. This role requires strong video creation and editing skills, particularly using PremierePro and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. The position is collaborative, working closely with the marketing and R&D teams to produce and edit technical videos that accurately represent the company's products and brand image. The responsibilities of the Video Content Creator include executing ideas presented by management, planning, filming, and editing content for various platforms such as the company website, training materials, and social media channels. A basic understanding of video production techniques, sound equipment, lighting, and directing scenes for voice-over or live audio is essential. The finished videos typically range from one to ten minutes in length, and while most production will occur on-site, there may be occasions that require offsite filming or attendance at events and trade shows. Project management is a key aspect of this role, which includes coordinating pre- and post-production tasks and ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently throughout the filming, editing, and final delivery processes. Attention to detail regarding product and company information is crucial, as projects may require multiple rounds of review and rework in a collaborative environment. The candidate must be professional and open to constructive criticism, demonstrating a commitment to learning and growing within a team that tackles technical and complex topics.

Responsibilities

  • Create how-to, product, installation, and technical videos about vehicle brake parts and systems.
  • Plan, film, and edit content for the company website, training, social media, and other channels as needed.
  • Execute ideas presented by management and ensure alignment with the company's goals and vision.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-production tasks, ensuring efficient resource utilization during filming, editing, and final delivery.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to product and company details throughout the video production process.
  • Handle constructive criticism professionally and work collaboratively with team members.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience producing short informational videos (2-10 minutes).
  • High school graduate with some college experience in film production preferred.
  • Proven proficiency in video production and editing using PremierePro, Photoshop, and Lightroom Classic.
  • Working knowledge of After Effects is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to take critical feedback.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, with working knowledge of Outlook.
  • Automotive knowledge, especially regarding brake systems, is a huge plus.
