About the position

The Video Design Engineer at ManTech is responsible for designing and engineering complex audio/video systems, translating customer requirements into functional designs, and providing technical support during installation. This role requires a strong understanding of audio/video technologies and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. The position is crucial for ensuring high-quality service delivery in a fast-paced environment, particularly in settings such as conference rooms and operation centers.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer meetings and conduct site surveys
• Translate customer requirements into functional system designs
• Understand architectural/construction drawings and documentation
• Design and engineer complex audio/video/VTC systems
• Provide floor plans and elevations
• Create engineering, programming and installation labor estimates
• Provide guidance for integration and/or installation teams
• Configure and test audio/video systems

Requirements

• Ability to communicate and interact professionally with colleagues, project stakeholders, and clients
• Understanding of industry best practices in audio, video, and control systems design/integration
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to assess customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of IP technologies
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Proficiency in MS Office suite including Visio and PowerPoint
• BA/BS and 7 years of experience, or equivalent education and work experience
• Experience with A/V switching systems
• Understanding of commercial audio theory, signal flow, and gain staging
• Familiarity with DSP technology (including DANTE)
• Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
• AVIXA CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred

• Experience in designing systems for conference rooms, operation center watch floors, training rooms, and VIP offices
