About the position

The Video Editor Fellow at More Perfect Union will focus on editing a variety of video formats for the Quickturn team, which includes breaking news coverage, on-camera explainers, and shareable content for social media platforms. This role emphasizes the importance of quick turnarounds and effective communication within a remote work environment, contributing to the organization's mission of advocating for the working class through impactful journalism and activism.

Responsibilities

• Edit videos on a quick timeline
• Pull b-roll, news headlines, images and other media for videos
• Complete assignments from supervisor and colleagues and meet deadlines
• Maintain close communication with supervisor and video producer fellow to ensure quick turnarounds
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere
• Proficiency with in-platform editing tools on TikTok and Instagram
• After Effects experience a plus
• Familiarity with national politics and labor issues
• A passion for economic justice and workers rights
• Strong understanding of social media
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
• Producing, scripting, research or development experience a plus
• Available full-time hours and ability to excel in a remote work from home environment
• Ability to operate in a nimble environment
