About the position

The Video Editor position is a freelance role focused on transforming raw podcast footage into engaging video content for a young audience. The role involves editing episodes for various platforms, ensuring high-quality production that aligns with the podcast's mission of connecting with teens and young adults on relevant topics.

Responsibilities

• Edit raw podcast footage into polished, visually engaging videos that appeal to a teen and young adult audience
• Add graphics, captions, sound effects, transitions, and animations to enhance the viewer experience
• Work closely with the podcast production team to ensure video content aligns with our branding and messaging
• Optimize videos for multiple platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and others
• Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality videos on time
• Stay up-to-date with video editing trends and techniques that resonate with younger audiences
• Perform quality checks on final videos to ensure they meet our standards for audio, video, and visual quality
• Ensure all content adheres to our guidelines and is age-appropriate for teens and young adults

Requirements

• Proven experience as a video editor with a portfolio or demo reel showcasing your work
• Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.)
• Experience with motion graphics, color grading, sound design, and adding dynamic elements to videos
• Strong creative vision with the ability to adapt content to suit the interests and preferences of a 15-26 age demographic
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate remotely with a team
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Previous experience editing content for a youth-focused audience is a plus
