About the position

Widespread Creative, an Austin-based production company and creative ad agency, is seeking a talented Video Editor / Graphic Designer with expertise in graphic design and motion graphics. The role involves post-production editing of broadcast and narrative content, as well as advertising design. The ideal candidate will have experience with industry-standard software and a strong understanding of cinema camera formats, audio mixing, and color correction. This position offers a holistic opportunity to engage in various aspects of video editing and ad design, requiring good multitasking and storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Edit video content for various formats including digital ads, TV spots, and documentaries.
• Design graphics and motion graphics using After Effects and other software.
• Collaborate with producers on production plans and outlines.
• Manage media and assist with audio editing and color correction.
• Coordinate with broadcast media companies regarding deliverables and schedules.
• Handle full edits from ingestion to picture lock for diverse content types.
• Maintain good time management and communication skills.

Requirements

• Proven experience in video editing, particularly in Premiere, Avid, or FCP.
• Proficiency in graphic design software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
• General knowledge of cinema camera formats from Canon, Red, Sony, etc.
• Ability to transcode footage and mix audio for broadcast delivery.
• Strong storytelling skills and understanding of narrative structure.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with motion graphics and advanced design techniques.
