About the position

The Video Editor will play a crucial role in the video department of 1440, focusing on creating engaging explainer videos that align with the company's content strategy. This remote position involves managing the entire video production process, from concept development to final delivery, while ensuring high-quality standards and timely execution. The role requires collaboration with the Social Media Manager to optimize video content for performance across various platforms, making it essential for the candidate to stay updated on industry trends and audience preferences.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end production of video projects, including editorial and technical pre- and post-production.
  • Coordinate all aspects of video production, from concept development and storyboarding to gathering and building assets, editing, and final delivery.
  • Ensure timely execution of video projects while adhering to budgets, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Generate creative video concepts and pitch new formats that align with the company's video strategy.
  • Propose innovative and diverse video formats to engage the audience and drive performance metrics.
  • Stay up to date on video trends, social platform changes, and industry best practices to inform new content ideas.
  • Work with the Social Media Manager to optimize video production for organic video performance.
  • Refine video content to meet specific digital platform goals.
  • Adjust and iterate on video formats based on performance data, audience feedback, and emerging trends to continuously improve content effectiveness.
  • Manage, create, and deliver 16-20 fully produced video projects from start to finish a month.
  • Deliver monthly creative pitches and video concepts aligned with the company's social and video strategy.
  • Develop and deliver a plan for optimizing video content based on performance data.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in editing and video production, as well as deep knowledge in audio editing and tools such as Adobe Premiere, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience managing video projects from concept to delivery.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and how to optimize video content for each.
  • Strong understanding of and experience maintaining journalistic standards, including fluency in reporting best practices, fact-checking, and libel.
  • Creative thinking and a track record of pitching innovative video content ideas.
  • Data-driven approach to refining video production and optimizing performance based on analytics.
