About the position

The Video Editor & Social Media Strategist at the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) is responsible for enhancing the organization's visual content and social media presence. This role involves creating and editing engaging video content, driving social media strategies, and optimizing content for maximum audience engagement across various platforms. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging and staying updated on trends to drive innovative ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain MUSL social media channels, creating and curating content to support engagement and growth strategies.
  • Produce video stories, graphics, and animations for social media use.
  • Adapt videos for different social media platforms, considering specific requirements and best practices.
  • Review content to ensure it accurately portrays MUSL products and brand guidelines, revising as necessary.
  • Perform content optimization techniques on social media channels and the Powerball website.
  • Plan and manage ad campaigns on social media, including boosted content.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to strategize and create digital content.
  • Serve as a creative and digital content consultant to internal stakeholders, transforming campaign objectives into engaging digital content.
  • Suggest timely and topic-relevant digital content based on current events and trends.
  • Upload website articles and materials to the content management system and audit inventory for updates.
  • Write copy for website and social media, ensuring consistency in style and tone.
  • Create graphics and compelling visuals for presentations.
  • Assist in curating content and developing weekly e-newsletters for lottery stakeholders.
  • Maintain an online repository of art files, brand guidelines, and templates for external partners.
  • Work irregular hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as workload may require.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in content creation, specifically short-form or social-media focused video content.
  • Strong command of video editing software including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Premiere Rush, or equivalent tools.
  • Proficiency in digital writing, with the ability to write clear, concise, and grammatically correct copy for digital platforms.
  • Ability to produce compelling graphics using Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva.
  • Knowledge of digital content marketing strategies.
  • Ability to use a smartphone or professional camera to take photos and film videos.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with audience research to inform content direction.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics analysis to refine social media strategy.
