About the position

As a Video Editor/Videographer at BKS Studio Miami, you will play a crucial role in the creative development and execution of various video and design projects. This contractor position requires expertise in video editing and videography, with a focus on collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. The role demands proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve Studio, along with strong project management skills. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory, and the position may transition to full-time in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and produce high-quality video content for various platforms.
  • Lead and support the creative process from conceptualization to final execution.
  • Collaborate with team members including videographers, photographers, and project managers.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously using project management software.
  • Communicate ideas and feedback effectively with internal teams and clients.
  • Assemble raw footage and upload to a computer.
  • Shoot video at the studio including podcasts and green screen.
  • Live stream video and podcasts to platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
  • Familiarity with high-quality cameras and lenses.
  • Perform color correction and lighting adjustments.
  • Review shooting scripts and create shot decision lists.
  • Trim footage segments and create sequences of video clips.
  • Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects to create final cuts.
  • Consult with stakeholders throughout the production process.
  • Implement new editing technologies and best practices to maximize efficiency.
  • Record and mix sound.

Requirements

  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • 3 years of experience with project management software.
  • Proven ability to lead and support creative development in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, verified through E-Verify.
  • Proven work experience as a Video Editor and/or Audio.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating video editing ability.
  • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages.
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills.
  • BS degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience filming for at least 2 years.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
