About the position

The Las Vegas Review-Journal is seeking a bilingual Video Editor/Videographer to create and edit video content for both English and Spanish platforms. This role involves producing a variety of content, including breaking news and feature stories, while ensuring adherence to editorial standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Editing daily news updates for various platforms.
• Gathering editorial information via phone and internet, collaborating with Review-Journal news staff, and conducting on-location assignments.
• Creating video packages and ensuring content deadlines are met.
• Checking all writing and video for accuracy, following Review-Journal editorial standards.
• Editing content and uploading it to various platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and the website using appropriate software.
• Creating graphics to be used within video content.
• Keeping abreast of national and local news, sports, and social content.
• Producing and curating daily content uploads in various content management systems.
• Working collaboratively with all members of the newsroom and other departments as required.
• Learning digital analytics and applying best business practices.

Requirements

• Proficient in delivering content in both English and Spanish.
• 1-2 years of editing experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of on-camera experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in news writing following AP and Review-Journal standards.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well in a live video environment.
• Ability to work as a team player in the newsroom and build news contacts in the community.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule for breaking news and special content opportunities.
• Ability to shoot and edit video with speed, efficiency, and creativity in studio, newsroom, or field environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred experience with Premiere Pro, After Effects, Panasonic video equipment, LiveU, Instagram, Facebook, and X.
