About the position

The Video Editor at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation is responsible for editing video content by assembling footage provided by the in-house Broadcast Producer and external production houses. This role involves following scripts or outlines to create cohesive videos, enhancing them with sound effects, voiceovers, and graphics, and ensuring the final product aligns with the intended vision.

Responsibilities

  • Assembling video files and transferring or uploading them to a computer.
  • Following a script, screenplay, or outline to edit videos.
  • Inputting sound to enhance video, including selecting music and writing voice-overs.
  • Inputting graphics to enhance videos.
  • Performing digital video editing and synchronization.
  • Collaborating closely with Art and Broadcast Production to present a final product that matches the final vision.
  • Coordinating, cataloguing, and maintaining the video file library database on server and external drives.
  • Performing other duties within the scope of job assignment as required or requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; five years' experience in video editing.
  • Proficiency in editing software programs, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • General understanding of computers and digital equipment and knowledge of new and cutting-edge technology.
  • Ability to take and follow directions while also having a creative eye for improvements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced editing techniques such as compositing, animation, and 3D rendering.
  • Videography, photography, and/or graphic design experience.
