Video Editor

About the position

Washington, D.C., nonprofit organization seeks an experienced Video Editor with mastery in Adobe Premiere and proficiency in After Effects and Motion Graphics (minimum of 5 years of editing experience). This role involves creating engaging video content, including social media clips, documentaries, and promotional materials, to amplify the organization's mission of improving human and animal lives through plant-based diets and ethical scientific research. Travel approximately quarterly is required.

Responsibilities

• Edit a variety of videos for programs, promos, media coverage, social media, and our website.
• Create and edit custom motion graphics for branded content.
• Properly store and catalog all video and audio components.
• Stay current on video industry trends and standards.
• Maintain and meet filming dates, project deadlines, and release dates.
• Upload and publish video content to all appropriate channels with titles and descriptions optimized for SEO and high visibility.
• Collaborate with other departments to determine video needs and visual style.
• Attend local events and shoot/edit the video as needed (10% of job responsibility).

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of work experience, including 5 years of editing experience.
• Must be an experienced editor with mastery in Adobe Premiere and proficiency in After Effects and Motion Graphics.
• Knowledge of latest production equipment, trends, and techniques and self-motivation to stay up to date with trends.

Nice-to-haves

• A minimum of 10 years of editing experience as well as videography and production experience.
• Experience producing videos from concept to shoot to final edit.
