About the position

The Bilingual Video Editor will be responsible for creating and editing videos for the Reel short app, supporting projects across the US and China. This role requires a strong understanding of social media platforms and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams. The position is based in Sunnyvale, CA, and involves working in the office four days a week.

Responsibilities

• Re-edit videos shot for the Reel short app and create promotional ads.
• Review rough cut videos for any flaws and provide feedback.
• Consistently improve video content based on performance reports from the marketing team.
• Work effectively and collaboratively with global teams in various time zones.
• Ensure timely and consistent communication across projects.
• Maintain quality and consistency across projects with brand guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience in video editing and proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere (Davinci is a plus).
• Ability to follow direction and solve problems independently while meeting goals and deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a strive for perfection.
• Proficient in Mandarin (verbal and written).
• Strong creative thinker who proactively seeks out new solutions to challenges.
• Familiarity with social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
• Ability to pair music with the story effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Startup experience is an asset.
• Experience with Final Cut Pro (1 year preferred).
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop (1 year preferred).
