About the position

The Video Editor at Doing Things will play a crucial role in creating engaging and entertaining video content that resonates with audiences across various social media platforms. This position involves editing both editorial and branded content, collaborating with creative teams, and utilizing analytics to optimize content performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in video editing, a sense of humor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Edit highly engaging, entertaining, visually fresh content for social media platforms.
  • Work with a range of short form, social-first video formats to create best-in-class content.
  • Receive and address feedback on edits from internal stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines for video delivery.
  • Supply original content ideas and collaborate with team members to bring creative ideas to life.
  • Work closely with analytics to develop best practices and build a loyal audience.
  • Keep performance goals in mind and ensure they are met or exceeded.
  • Share ideas, successes, and challenges with other team members across departments.

Requirements

  • 3+ years creating comparable content for a brand, publisher, or company.
  • Excellent video editing skills.
  • Familiarity with the accounts under the Doing Things umbrella.
  • Demonstrated track record of optimizing social-first content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Experience with humorous content around themes such as dating, health + fitness, city life, and local culture is a plus.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Premiere, and proficient in Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Audition and motion graphics experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of best practices in media management and workflows.
  • Strong creative instincts for enhancing video footage, including color correction/grading and sound mixing.
  • Understanding of how business and creative can work together.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with humorous content that’s social-first around themes such as dating, health + fitness, city life, and local culture.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Audition and motion graphics experience.
