About the position

Ghost Atomic Pictures is seeking a highly skilled Video Editor to join their dynamic post-production team. This role involves producing polished, high-quality videos for a diverse range of corporate clients in a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in video editing, proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, and a keen eye for storytelling, contributing to the company's mission of crafting innovative stories for top clients worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and organize video projects following established procedures and best practices outlined by the Head of Post-Production.
  • Review raw footage and assist in creating accurate transcripts to support the post-production process.
  • Edit and assemble raw video assets into compelling videos, following a structured review process that includes internal assessments and client feedback cycles.
  • Curate and integrate additional b-roll footage from stock libraries or external sources to enhance and supplement original content.
  • Select and incorporate music tracks to complement video narratives, ensuring the audio aligns with the tone and pacing of the project.
  • Perform color correction, apply LUTs, and adjust visual aesthetics as directed by the Head of Post-Production or Director of Photography.
  • Create basic on-screen graphics and collaborate with motion graphics artists for more complex visual elements.
  • Upload video exports for review on platforms like Frame.io, adhering to established timelines and review processes.
  • Produce various video versions, including alternate cuts, social media edits, and shorter promotional pieces.
  • Support other editors with coloring, sound design, edit revisions, trims and other responsibilities as defined by Head of Post-Production.
  • Prepare final exports following precise delivery specifications, including the generation of closed captions, audio descriptions, and additional media formats as needed for client distribution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and post-production technologies.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in video editing, specifically for corporate, commercial, or business clients.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Premiere Pro, with working knowledge of After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop being a strong plus.
  • Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to craft clear and engaging narratives through video editing.
  • Expertise with problem solving and finding creative solutions to editing challenges.
  • A personal editing setup capable of running the latest versions of Adobe Premiere Pro and related post-production software.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established workflows and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DaVinci Resolve is an added plus.
