About the position

The LockOut Company is seeking a creative Video Editor to join their team in Brighton, MI. This full-time position involves videography, video editing, and motion graphics to produce engaging video content that highlights the company's safety and security products. The ideal candidate will have experience in post-production processes and be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs. The role requires collaboration with the creative team, managing multiple projects, and assisting with general office tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Edit raw footage into high-quality videos, ensuring smooth transitions and proper pacing.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop and execute video concepts.
  • Utilize film editing techniques to enhance storytelling and create engaging content.
  • Apply visual effects, motion graphics, and animations using Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.
  • Select and edit music tracks to complement video content.
  • Incorporate typography and graphic elements to enhance visual appeal.
  • Ensure consistency in style, tone, and branding across all video projects.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate site visits with customers to capture photos and video footage.
  • Utilize recording equipment to capture high-quality photos, video footage, and audio.
  • Design assets in Illustrator/Photoshop.
  • Organize files, photos, and video assets in Dropbox.
  • Follow the direction of company Management Staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficient in video and photo editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of cinematography principles and storytelling techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Strong sense of composition, color theory, and typography.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Solid organizational skills to manage files, assets, and project timelines effectively.
  • Production planning and script development experience.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and on a Mac computer.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience or interest in drone photography/videography.
  • Experience with Adobe Audition.
