About the position

The Video Journalist is responsible for creating compelling news content by shooting, writing, and editing stories for various broadcasts. This role involves collaborating with news producers, reporting live during newscasts, and engaging with the community to develop story leads. The position requires a strong command of both Spanish and English, as well as the ability to work under tight deadlines and varying shifts.

Responsibilities

• Shoot, write, and edit news stories for station's newscasts and recorded programs.
• Work directly with News Producers on story ideas and development.
• Present completed stories that are accurate, journalistically sound, fair, and balanced.
• Report live during newscasts and breaking news as needed.
• Coordinate, organize, conduct, and video-record interviews.
• Develop ongoing 'sweeps' and 'special series' stories.
• Represent Telemundo in community-related events.
• Build relationships with the community and contacts for developing story leads.

Requirements

• BA or BS in Journalism or related field.
• At least two years of reporting, shooting, writing, and video-editing experience.
• Excellent writing and communication skills in Spanish.
• Enterprise reporting experience required.
• Live reporting experience.
