About the position

As a Video Media Asset Manager at Homes.com, you will play a pivotal role in creating and managing top-tier video content that supports buyers, sellers, and real estate agents throughout the home search process. This position is based at our Richmond, VA campus, where you will collaborate with a talented team of managers and video editors dedicated to producing compelling media that highlights high-visibility commercial and residential properties and neighborhoods. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development of all video production assets and to train staff in effective video organization practices. In this role, you will be expected to assist in developing new media management procedures and workflows in collaboration with video editors and senior leadership. You will maintain and integrate assets with other enterprise Digital Asset Management (DAM) and Media Asset Management (MAM) systems, working closely with other enterprise partners to enhance the DAM/MAM experience and improve tracking and analytics. Your expertise will be crucial in standardizing file structures, asset allocations, and metadata tagging, ensuring that all processes are efficient and effective. Additionally, you will facilitate training sessions for senior leadership, managers, and video editors, covering new hire orientation, continual updates, and quarterly department training. Your role will also involve coordinating administrative functions necessary to document changes and issues, as well as fostering cross-departmental communication to develop new initiatives and improve learning outcomes. You will spend quality time with local and regional team members to demonstrate best practices in media management process optimization, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their roles. Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing new media management procedures and workflows with video editors and senior leadership.
  • Maintain assets contributed and integrate with other enterprise DAMs and MAMs.
  • Work with other enterprise partners to improve DAM/MAM experience and for tracking and analytics.
  • Research and recommend new technologies and trends in asset management.
  • Standardize all file structures and asset allocations for file managements as well as metadata tagging and tagging logic.
  • Facilitate training to senior leadership, managers, and video editors.
  • Coordinate or perform administrative functions necessary to deliver and document changes and issues.
  • Cross-departmental communication to develop new initiatives and improve learning outcomes.
  • Spend quality time with local and regional team members to demonstrate best practices with media management process optimization.
  • Professional and effective communication with internal partners during all aspects of tasks and projects.
  • Continued learning and development of your craft, including staying up to date on new techniques and technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.
  • 5+ years of experience as a digital imaging technician or media asset manager at an agency, brand, or cable network.
  • Demonstrate understanding of digital asset preservation standards and best practices.
  • Understanding of database administration.
  • Experience overseeing a digital asset inventory.
  • Ability to execute projects quickly under tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized, able to immediately assist team members' requests.
  • Make safeguarding data a top priority.
  • Demonstrable practical experience as a video editor through submission of past work.
  • Must be proficient with non-linear editing software (Adobe Suite, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition, Davinci Resolve, and may include Fairlight, Fusion, Final Cut Pro, and Motion).
  • Creative problem-solving, attention to detail, objectivity, and the ability to think strategically.
  • Proficiency and deep understanding of various codecs, file wrappers, color sciences (Wide Gamut, SDR, HDR, Rec709, and BT2020).
  • Ability to create an inclusive learning environment and adjust based on the audience's learning needs.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Mac OS.
  • Ability to interact at all levels and establish rapport with both internal and external stakeholders.
