About the position

Western Mass News is seeking a passionate and skilled Video News Editor to join our award-winning news team. This part-time position requires a candidate who can thrive in a fast-paced, highly functioning newsroom environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with non-linear editing equipment and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as a keen eye for powerful visuals and an ear for high-quality sound. The role involves editing video and audio content for all multimedia platforms associated with Western Mass News, which includes ABC 40 (WGGB), Fox 6 (EGGB), and CBS 3 (WSHM). The successful candidate will also be responsible for driving a company vehicle and performing any other duties as assigned. This position offers the opportunity to work with a talented team dedicated to delivering high-quality news coverage to the Pioneer Valley community.

Responsibilities

• Editing video and sound for all WMN multimedia platforms
• Demonstrating competence in videography and video editing
• Driving a company vehicle as needed
• Performing any other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience as a television editor or related internships
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, late nights, holidays, weekends, and possible overtime hours
