About the position

WBNG, the CBS affiliate in Binghamton, NY, is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Video News Editor to join its award-winning newsroom. The role involves gathering and organizing video content for newscasts, editing video for broadcast and digital platforms, and contributing to the overall production of news segments. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong communication skills, both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Gather video and organize videos for newscasts
• Edit video for broadcast and digital/social platforms
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Self-motivated with excellent communication skills
• Experience as a video editor in a television news environment is preferred
• Background in journalism or communications is a plus
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while meeting deadlines
• Strong understanding of non-linear editing

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with video editing software
• Knowledge of current events and news reporting
