About The Position

The Video-Photographer position at Louisville Metro Government is responsible for managing the video and photography needs of the Office of the Mayor. This role involves creating engaging content for social media and the government website, capturing and editing video and photographic materials, and collaborating with the Office of Communications. The position requires creativity and technical skills to produce high-quality visual content that highlights the Mayor's priorities and Metro investments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related discipline.
• Five years of journalism, communications, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Writes, produces, and edits engaging videos and photographic content for the Mayor's social media accounts and the Louisville Metro Government website.
• Creates visually compelling stories to increase engagement across social platforms.
• Shoots b-roll/soundbite packages for local media to highlight Metro investments and priorities.
• Produces video messages for senior staff and the Mayor.
• Operates equipment including cameras, editing consoles, audio boards, and video switchers.
• Cuts and edits images to create a professional video product, including adding effects and transitions.
• Edits footage with prompt turnaround times.
• Assists with Open Records requests.
• Participates in the Mayor's communication meetings.
• Maintains, repairs, services, and installs basic equipment.
