About the position

The Michigan Dental Association (MDA) is seeking a creative and skilled Digital Content Creator/Videographer to join our team. This full-time position is hybrid, allowing for a mix of remote and in-office work. The primary responsibility of the Digital Content Creator/Videographer is to capture, edit, brainstorm, and produce high-quality videos that align with our brand's voice and strategy. These videos will be utilized across various platforms, including the MDA website, social media, and other digital channels, to engage our tripartite membership effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of video production, storytelling, and digital marketing trends. They should be able to work under tight deadlines and demonstrate excellent teamwork skills. This role will involve generating content ideas and using independent judgment to complete projects from planning through post-production. The goal is to amplify the MDA's mission, improve brand reputation, and enhance engagement with key audiences. Essential job functions include planning, shooting, and editing video content such as promotional videos, interviews, and social media clips. The candidate will collaborate with directors to develop video concepts that align with brand messaging and association goals. They will manage all aspects of video production, including lighting, sound, camera operation, and post-production editing, ensuring that all video content meets brand standards and is delivered on time and within budget. In addition to video production, the Digital Content Creator/Videographer will be responsible for developing engaging digital content for various platforms, editing and repurposing existing video content, and assisting in the creation of visual assets like photography and graphic design. They will work closely with key stakeholders to create tailored content for each platform, analyze content performance metrics, and adjust strategies to optimize engagement and conversion rates. Project management skills are essential, as the candidate will coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining an organized archive of video footage and digital assets.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, shoot, and edit video content, including promotional videos, interviews, and social media clips.
  • Collaborate with Directors to develop video concepts that align with brand messaging and association goals.
  • Manage all aspects of video production, including lighting, sound, camera operation, and post-production editing.
  • Ensure all video content meets brand standards and is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop engaging and innovative digital content for websites, social media platforms, and other digital channels.
  • Edit and repurpose existing video content for use across different platforms.
  • Assist in the creation of visual assets, including photography and graphic design, as needed.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to create content tailored to each platform, ensuring maximum engagement and reach.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in digital content, video production, and social media to continuously improve content strategies.
  • Analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly to optimize engagement and conversion rates.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors as needed to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain an organized archive of video footage, project files, and digital assets.
  • Ensure all content is optimized for various platforms, including mobile devices and desktop.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment such as Film, Digital Media, Communications or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a videographer, video editor, or digital content creator.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or similar tools.
  • Experience with sound and lighting techniques.
  • Ability to shoot and edit a variety of video styles (interview, social media, long and short form digital series).
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
