About the position

The Videographer & Editor at the YMCA of Greater Louisville is responsible for planning, producing, and editing video content that aligns with the organization's mission and community goals. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create engaging videos for multiple platforms, ensuring adherence to brand standards and quality. The position requires a strong focus on creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of video content for platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Collaborate closely with the Content Creator to ensure creative alignment and adherence to strategic objectives.
  • Work with YMCA branches to identify stories and content that align with the organization's mission and community goals.
  • Ensure all video content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a high standard of quality.
  • Manage multiple editing projects under tight deadlines.
  • Coordinate all aspects of video production from conceptualization to implementation, including site visits, pre-interviews, lighting, video production, editing, file management, and video launch.
  • Engage with staff, members, volunteers, and donors to capture compelling stories.
  • Promote inclusivity and participation among all demographics.
  • Maintain an organized video catalog for easy collaboration with the team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, best practices, and local community needs.
  • Adhere to established YMCA brand standards.
  • Uphold the mission of the YMCA and demonstrate behaviors that reflect its values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in videography, film production, video editing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Three to four years of proven experience in video production and editing, preferably in a nonprofit or community-focused setting.
  • Strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing previous video projects.
  • Proficiency in operating professional video equipment, cameras, audio, and lighting.
  • Strong visual storytelling abilities and creative thinking.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
  • Experience with mobile editing apps.
  • Ability to plan and visualize videos before shooting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and possess strong organizational and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in nonprofit or community-focused video production.
  • Familiarity with social media video trends and best practices.
