About the position

An opportunity for a fixed-term/temporary Videographer/Editor is available. The Videographer/Editor is responsible for the shooting and editing of video for news programs, live coverage, breaking news, and other productions. This role requires the individual to work independently or as part of a team to create and edit pictures and sound that accurately and fairly represent the news. The Videographer/Editor will be tasked with recording raw video and audio and transforming it into a finished product. Additionally, the individual will be accountable for maintaining assigned equipment, including cameras, lights, editors, and peripheral gear, and will initiate repairs when necessary. It is important to note that this is a fixed-term temporary role intended to provide on-call support. The Videographer/Editor will film and edit all video content, both in studio and on location. They will oversee all aspects of location filming, including lighting and sound recording, and will be responsible for the pacing, flow, and storytelling arc of all video content. The role involves partnering with reporters and producers to conceptualize new ideas for video content, engaging viewers through creativity and cutting-edge video skills. The Videographer/Editor will also provide an initial review of all video content to ensure that there are no errors before finalization, ensuring that all names, titles, and words that appear on screen are accurate. Furthermore, they will oversee the distribution of completed videos to the appropriate parties and will continually remain up to date on new trends in video production, leveraging those trends to enhance NJTV's video content. Other relevant duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Films and edits all video content, in studio and on location

  • Other relevant duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience video filming & editing experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premier Pro and other Adobe Create Cloud Suite applications
  • Highly skilled in visualizing and shooting concepts
  • Knowledge of current and emerging newscast technologies
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Valid driver's license
