About the position

The Videographer/Editor position at Lockheed Martin Space is an exciting opportunity for a passionate storyteller looking to grow as a media professional within a high-tech environment. This role focuses on Live Action production, where the selected candidate will work on a variety of projects including marketing, promotional, and social media films/videos. The ideal candidate will be part of a talented team of visual creatives, contributing to the creation of cinematic and documentary-style content that effectively communicates brand messaging. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Visual Communication Manager, the Live Action Team lead, and a diverse group of Producer/Directors/Editors. Your responsibilities will include producing high-quality video content that influences and motivates audiences, while also matching or exceeding the production quality of typical media consumed today. You will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all content aligns with the strategic goals of Lockheed Martin Space. The position requires a strong understanding of digital video production, including workflows, motion graphics, and post-production processes. You will be responsible for all aspects of video production, from scriptwriting and location scouting to video capture and editing. The role also involves consulting with stakeholders to assess the appropriate medium for communication, ensuring that the final product meets the needs of both internal and external audiences. A demo reel showcasing your previous work is required to demonstrate your skills and creativity in visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Produce cinematic and documentary-style marketing, promotional, and social media films/videos.
  • Collaborate with the Visual Communication Manager and Live Action Team lead to create visual content.
  • Manage multiple video production projects simultaneously.
  • Research, prepare, and produce videos for various purposes including marketing and training.
  • Consult with stakeholders to assess appropriate mediums and create product concepts.
  • Plan production activities including scriptwriting, location scouting, and shot selection.
  • Capture video footage and perform video editing, sound design, and digital effect creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Core knowledge of video capture/editing, codecs, technology, and workflow.
  • 1+ years of experience in digital video production and post-production processes.
  • Ability to operate a variety of standard and special-purpose digital cameras.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience working alongside digital creatives such as producers, directors, and graphic designers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with multiple production ecosystems (Sony, Canon, Panasonic, etc.).
  • High level knowledge and skills in video editing software and workflow.
  • Industry knowledge about current production offerings.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling and shot composition.
  • Experience working in studio environments and on location.
  • Experience with social media distribution channels.
