About the position

The Videographer/Editor position at Lockheed Martin Space is an exciting opportunity for a passionate storyteller looking to grow as a media professional within the corporate and industrial market. This role is centered around producing cinematic and documentary-style videos for marketing, promotional, and social media purposes. The ideal candidate will work closely with a talented team of visual creatives, including producers, directors, and editors, to create compelling visual content that effectively communicates the brand messaging of Lockheed Martin Space. The position requires a strong ability to work both collaboratively and independently, managing multiple projects while maintaining high production quality. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of video production, from scriptwriting and location scouting to video capture and editing, ensuring that the final product meets the strategic goals of the organization. In this role, you will be expected to operate various digital cameras, research and prepare videos for diverse audiences, and act as a strategic advisor to stakeholders. The position also emphasizes the importance of visual storytelling, requiring the candidate to influence and motivate audiences through effective communication. A demo reel showcasing your previous work is required, highlighting your skills in video production and editing. This position reports to the Visual Communication Manager and is part of a dynamic team that values creativity and innovation in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Produce cinematic and documentary-style videos for marketing, promotional, and social media purposes.
  • Collaborate with the Live Action Team lead and the larger Communications team to create visual content.
  • Manage multiple video production projects simultaneously, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
  • Research, prepare, and produce videos for various communicative purposes for both internal and external audiences.
  • Consult with stakeholders to assess appropriate mediums and create product concepts.
  • Plan and execute video production, including scriptwriting, location scouting, shot selection, and video editing.
  • Operate a variety of standard and special-purpose digital cameras to meet production requirements.
  • Create digital effects and sound design for video projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Core knowledge of video capture/editing, codecs, technology, and workflow.
  • Essential production skills including composition, focus, color, and ISO.
  • 1+ years of experience in video production and editing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with multiple production ecosystems (Sony, Canon, Panasonic, etc.).
  • High level knowledge and skills in video editing software and workflow.
  • Industry knowledge about current production offerings.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling and shot composition.
  • Experience working in studio environments or on location.
  • Experience with social media distribution channels.
