About the position

The Videographer & Editor role at Digi-Key Electronics is a dynamic position responsible for capturing, editing, brainstorming, and producing high-quality videos that align with the company's brand voice and strategy. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with video and technical teams to create compelling corporate, product, and technology content for various platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of video production, storytelling, and digital marketing trends, with an emphasis on accuracy, meeting tight deadlines, and effective teamwork. As a hybrid position, some onsite attendance will be required, allowing for a blend of remote and in-person collaboration. In this role, the Videographer & Editor will develop storyboards, schedule production activities, coordinate set production, conduct research, and maintain an overall production schedule. Responsibilities include scheduling shoots, setting up and operating cameras, lighting equipment, and audio devices, as well as capturing b-roll footage to support various video projects. The candidate will also edit raw video, select music, design digital video effects, and create motion and still graphics to produce finished products that meet brand standards. Additionally, the role involves encoding and uploading video projects to company websites, ensuring all video content is delivered on time and meets brand standards, and recording engaging narrations of Digi-Key audio scripts. The candidate will also maintain an organized archive of video footage, project files, and digital assets, and may take on additional responsibilities from the Lead Video Production Associate or Marketing Production leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop storyboards and schedule production activities.
  • Coordinate set production and conduct research to maintain an overall production schedule.
  • Schedule shoots and set up cameras, lighting equipment, and audio devices.
  • Capture b-roll footage to support various video projects.
  • Edit raw video, select music, and design digital video effects and graphics.
  • Encode and upload video projects to company websites.
  • Ensure all video content meets brand standards and is delivered on time.
  • Record engaging narrations of Digi-Key audio scripts.
  • Maintain an organized archive of video footage, project files, and digital assets.
  • Take on additional responsibilities from the Lead Video Production Associate or Marketing Production leadership.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Film, Cinema, Video Production, Motion Graphics/Animation, Visual Communications, or similar area of study, or 3-4 years equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Typically, 1-2+ years of experience in videography, animation, or design.
  • Ability to shoot and edit a variety of video styles (interview, social media, long and short form digital series).
  • Demonstrated experience in operating professional video cameras, lighting equipment, and audio recording devices.
  • Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deadline driven, highly organized, and able to work independently.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cinema 4D or similar program preferred.
