JoVE is seeking skilled videographers to capture laboratory techniques and scientific experiments at various research institutions located in Charleston, SC, and its surrounding areas. This position offers a unique opportunity to enhance your portfolio with footage of cutting-edge scientific work while gaining experience in recording microscopic images. The role is designed for individuals who are looking to establish a long-term business relationship within the biotechnology and digital media sectors. The videographer will be required to work on an on-demand, semi-consistent basis, with each shoot typically lasting between 6 to 7 hours. The position does not require a crew; therefore, the videographer will operate independently, handling all filming and footage uploads. Importantly, no editing of the footage is necessary, allowing the videographer to focus solely on capturing high-quality video content. To qualify for this role, applicants must possess or have access to a professional HD camera, a wireless Lavalier microphone or directional microphone, and a 3-way fluid or gearhead tripod. While lighting kits and macro lenses are optional, they can enhance the quality of the footage captured. It is essential that applicants reside within or near Charleston, SC, and are willing to travel within a 200-mile radius for shoots. Additionally, fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required, and many research institutions mandate that visitors be vaccinated against Covid-19.
