About the position

The Videographer Intern position at Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) is designed to support projects within the Technical Training department at the Vernon, AL location. This role will primarily focus on creating Training, Education, and Development materials that will aid the Training group and the broader workforce. The intern will gain exposure to various Training functions over time, starting with Talent Development, to ensure a well-rounded experience in the field. The mission of this position is to enhance the learning process for team members by developing dynamic work instructions through video and multimedia content. The intern will be responsible for applying and developing images, videos, and documents that align with Marathon's step-by-step instructions. This will involve collaborating with the Training Team, Manufacturing Engineers, and Safety and Operations teams to ensure that all documentation is current and accurate. The intern will coordinate with team members, Team Leaders, and Supervisors on the plant floor to prepare for video shoots, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed before recording begins. The role includes video recording of workstations, editing the footage to create navigable content for team members, and validating the final product with the Manufacturing Engineer Department. In addition to video content creation, the intern will assist in the development of new employee orientations, engage with team members and supervisors on Training-related matters, and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving employee retention and job satisfaction. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration with other departments, such as marketing, to support various projects. Overall, this internship offers a comprehensive opportunity to learn and contribute to the Training function within a leading organization in the solid waste and recycling industry.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and develop images, videos, and documents in Marathon's step-by-step instructions to enhance team member learning.
  • Coordinate with team members, Team Leaders, and Supervisors on the plant floor to prepare for video shoots.
  • Ensure all video recordings are compliant with safety standards before starting.
  • Record step-by-step processes at workstations, adding necessary documents and pictures.
  • Edit videos to make them suitable for team members to navigate through easily.
  • Assist with functions in Training, Education, and Development within the Training Function.
  • Support the development of new employee orientations to ensure understanding of Marathon Environmental.
  • Engage with team members, supervisors, and managers on Training-related matters.
  • Develop and coordinate initiatives for employee retention and job satisfaction.
  • Assist in cross-functional projects, partnering with other departments such as marketing.

Requirements

  • Completed at least Sophomore or Junior year in Business, Training and Development, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Excited to implement classroom knowledge in practical settings.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
