About the position

KCTV5, Kansas City is seeking a creative and self-motivated Videographer to tell compelling stories through video. The role involves gathering video and sound for news stories, editing content for various platforms, and executing live shots. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Gathering video and sound for stories
• Shooting daily live shots
• Editing stories for television and web
• Contributing to the entire editorial process, including sourcing, enterprising, gathering, story construction, and presentation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of prior Videography experience in a TV Newsroom
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in journalism, TV production, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
• Non-linear editing experience
• Experience with LIVEU
• Proven ability to post content on social media platforms
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Flexible schedule with on-call assignments
• MVR check in pre-employment
