About the position

KCTV5, Kansas City is seeking a talented and creative Videographer who possesses a keen eye for news and the ability to tell compelling stories through the lens of a camera. This full-time position requires a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. The Videographer will be responsible for gathering video footage, conducting interviews, and collecting information necessary for news stories. Additionally, the role involves editing content for broadcast as well as digital and social media platforms. The successful candidate will also be tasked with setting up and executing live shots, utilizing ENG cameras, and operating cellular live broadcast devices such as LiveU. This position is integral to the editorial process, contributing to sourcing, story construction, and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of prior videography experience in a television newsroom, along with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in journalism, TV production, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered. Proficiency in non-linear editing and a proven ability to post content on various social media platforms are essential. The role requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds and maintain a flexible schedule, including on-call assignments. A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be conducted prior to employment. Responsibilities

Requirements
