About the position

Smithbucklin is seeking a Videographer & Motion Graphic Designer to join the Creative Services team in Chicago. This role involves creating high-impact visual content for nonprofit clients, supporting their marketing and communication strategies through video media. The position offers opportunities for growth and development, with a trajectory into management as the video media space continues to expand.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with creative and marketing staff to support video media needs for clients and corporate functions.
• Work with stakeholders to develop ideas and briefs, identifying the best format to communicate messages from concept to final deliverable.
• Create 2D motion graphic animations and infographics using still images, titles, b-roll, stock footage, and music to promote client events.
• Edit custom video content, including color grading, titles, graphics, and music, in line with client brand guidelines.
• Utilize in-house studio and company-owned equipment to produce engaging video media for various platforms.
• Travel to client events to capture b-roll and client testimonials (1-2 times per year).
• Manage upkeep of all Smithbucklin-owned video equipment to ensure maximum performance.
• Support the Creative Services team with additional graphic design and editing projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Video Production, or related visual arts majors, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in video production and editing.
• Strong working proficiency in video production and post-production editing.

Nice-to-haves

• Graphic design experience is highly preferred.
• Working proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, and the Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Working proficiency in Apple Final Cut Pro is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
