About the position

The Videographer/Photographer at Bethel College and Seminary will play a crucial role in creating engaging and dynamic digital content that tells the Bethel story in a compelling way. This position supports the university's enrollment and fundraising goals through the production of promotional videos, commercials, and audio content delivered across various channels, including web, broadcast, podcast, streaming, and projection. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire video production process, from concept development to the final product, ensuring that all content aligns with the university's mission and branding. In this role, the individual will produce promotional videos and innovative news features, managing everything from scripting and scheduling to shooting, editing, and producing. The videographer/photographer will also identify the best multimedia approaches to achieve desired results and will be tasked with building and maintaining a university-wide structure for video production and capturing the Bethel experience through photography. This includes scheduling shoots, managing visual assets, and consulting with communication specialists and web designers on various projects. Additionally, the position requires the management of student workers to assist in the production of photos and videos, as well as performing administrative and organizational duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative vision, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to producing high-quality content that reflects the diversity and mission of Bethel College and Seminary.

Responsibilities

• Produce promotional videos and innovative news features from concept through sharing.
• Identify the best multimedia approach to achieve desired results.
• Build and maintain university-wide structure and processes for video production.
• Capture the Bethel experience through photography and video b-roll.
• Schedule shoots with appropriate timing, locations, and subjects.
• Manage, organize, tag, and maintain visual assets and equipment.
• Research and maintain creative ideas and current techniques.
• Consult with communication specialists and web designers on projects.
• Manage student workers to aid in the production of photos and video.
• Perform administrative and organizational duties.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to schedule shoots, stage and direct on location, and process both photographs and video footage.
• Experience in post-production including capturing, editing, coloring, and audio.
• Working knowledge of SLR/video cameras, basic lighting, sound equipment, and editing/production software.
• Proficiency with Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
• Working experience with photography and videography equipment in studio and on-site situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects based on deadlines.
• Creative and artful eye for imagery and the ability to capture it.
• Working knowledge of After Effects or Motion is a plus.
