About the position

Oceaneering is seeking a talented Videographer and Photographer to join our team, responsible for capturing and editing high-quality photos and videos that effectively showcase our brand, products, and services. This role is crucial in visually representing our messaging and objectives, requiring a creative and strategic approach to content creation. The ideal candidate will have a strong emphasis on filming and editing, ensuring that all visual content aligns with our brand standards and engages both internal and external audiences. In this position, you will work in a hybrid environment, balancing virtual work with in-office responsibilities as needed. The role involves approximately 5-10% travel to our corporate offices in Houston, as well as potential travel nationally and internationally. You will be expected to demonstrate strong editing skills and principles, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of cinematography, including composition and shot framing. Proficiency in operating and maintaining professional camera equipment, including lenses, tripods, lights, microphones, and drones, is essential. Your responsibilities will include recording and editing video and audio tracks, applying knowledge of lighting conditions for optimal results, and utilizing visual storytelling techniques to captivate audiences. You will also manage and organize video and photo files in cloud-based storage systems, create engaging content for various platforms, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and branding. Meeting tight deadlines and responding quickly to market opportunities will be critical to your success in this role, as will your ability to operate independently as a fully proficient individual contributor.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong editing skills and principles to ensure high-quality content.
  • Display a strong understanding of cinematography principles, composition, and shot framing.
  • Operate and maintain a range of professional camera equipment and accessories, including lenses, tripods, lights, microphones, and drones.
  • Record and edit video, audio tracks, sound effects, and music for various video projects.
  • Apply knowledge to control both natural and artificial lighting conditions for optimal results.
  • Showcase a keen understanding of visual storytelling techniques to captivate and inform audiences.
  • Efficiently manage and organize video and photo files and assets in a cloud-based storage system such as Microsoft SharePoint and other Digital Asset Management systems.
  • Create engaging video content suitable for various audiences (website, social media, internal communications), including live streaming and webinars.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and maintain proper messaging, branding, and consistency.
  • Meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to market opportunities, ensuring timely delivery of content.
  • Operate as a fully proficient individual contributor, capable of handling projects independently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or at least 3 years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with editing for multiple platforms including social media and web.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with video editing/design software, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and other software applications.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Zoom/Microsoft Live Streaming and/or other media streaming distribution platforms.
  • Familiar with Digital Asset Management systems (such as Microsoft SharePoint and Canto).
  • Must have valid drone certifications.
  • Must have demo reel showcasing diverse videography and drone experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the oil and gas or energy sector is preferred, but not required.
  • Livestreaming and Webinar video experience.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain offshore safety certifications such as TWIC, BOSIET, HUET.
