About the position

Smithbucklin, a 100 percent employee-owned association management company, is seeking a Videographer/Editor to join the Creative Services team at our Chicago headquarters. This role is part of the Marketing & Communications Services (MCS) unit, which supports the visual communication strategy of our nonprofit client organizations. The Creative Services team is dedicated to creating high-impact, brand-consistent designs that engage, attract, and sell across print, digital, and video media. As a Videographer/Editor, you will take ownership of various video media projects, contributing to the growth and evolution of our services in this area. In this role, you will partner with creative and marketing staff to support the video media needs of both our client base and corporate functions. You will utilize our in-house studio and company-owned equipment to produce engaging video content for various platforms, including websites, social media, and on-site events. Your video editing skills will be essential as you work with the full range of Adobe products to create attractive and effective visual products. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to travel on location to client events to capture b-roll and client testimonials, manage the upkeep of all Smithbucklin-owned video equipment, and support the Creative Services team with additional graphic design and editing projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with creative and marketing staff to support the video media needs of both our client base and corporate functions.
  • Utilize in-house studio and company-owned equipment to produce engaging video media for various platforms, such as websites, social media, and on-site events.
  • Employ video editing skills using the full range of Adobe products to create attractive and effective visual products.
  • Travel on location to client events to capture b-roll and/or client testimonials (1-2 times per year).
  • Manage the upkeep of all Smithbucklin-owned video equipment to ensure maximum performance.
  • Support the overall Creative Services team with additional graphic design and editing projects, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution with a concentration in Graphic Design, Video Production, or related visual arts majors or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in video production and editing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graphic design experience is highly preferred.
  • Working proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, and the Adobe Creative Cloud is highly preferred.
  • Working proficiency in Apple Final Cut Pro is a plus.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
