About the position

The Videographer position at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business involves capturing and editing video content for various educational and marketing purposes. The role requires a blend of creative and technical skills to oversee video projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with the school's learning media strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and utilize various video editing software to produce high-quality video content.

Responsibilities

  • Captures and edits video footage using various equipment and software including Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro.
  • Plans, directs, shoots, and edits videos for the Kelley School of Business.
  • Oversees video projects from conception to completion for a variety of learning media activities.
  • Ensures creative decisions, including subject research, visual design, creative brief, and script development.
  • Works alongside internal stakeholders to evaluate, interpret, and conceptualize learning media strategies and video requests.
  • Identifies basic and complex videography projects for marketing and communications needs; sets timelines and determines desired video composition.
  • Performs necessary interviews and/or research, and selects and adjusts subjects, equipment, and lighting to achieve desired artistic effects.
  • Maintains filming equipment, including editing lab equipment, lenses, lights, and cameras; performs basic and complex equipment repairs.
  • Consults with marketing and communications staff to determine project needs and ensure video elements align with strategy and objectives.
  • Seeks input from peers and stakeholders on videography projects to evaluate effectiveness of different aesthetics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in video production, art, or related field.
  • 2 years of work experience preferred.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism.
  • Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills.
  • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality.
  • Possesses flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in AfterEffects, Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, and Davinci Resolve.
