About the position

ATA Services, Inc. is seeking to hire an experienced Videographer for a temporary assignment in Santa Fe, NM. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality video and audio content that supports the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) and its various initiatives. This role requires a proactive and innovative individual who can work independently and collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications teams, as well as various divisions within NMDOH, including Public Health and Epidemiology Response. The Videographer will be tasked with delivering evergreen messaging materials that promote equity initiatives and programs throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in content creation and visual storytelling, with a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines while achieving competing goals. They should possess deep television production experience and be able to conceptualize, script, shoot, edit, and deliver engaging content that effectively communicates the mission, vision, and values of NMDOH. The Videographer will also be responsible for managing all aspects of production, including securing permits, setting up and operating video, audio, and lighting equipment, and conducting interviews. In addition to video production, the Videographer will be expected to track analytics to measure the efficacy of their projects, manage the NMDOH YouTube channel, and maintain a digital repository for all media assets. The role requires frequent travel around New Mexico, and the candidate must be able to operate a state government-owned vehicle. The position is scheduled for Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and offers a pay rate of $25.00 - $31.00 per hour, depending on experience. The start date is as soon as possible, and the work will be primarily remote with travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling, expert-level video and audio content.
  • Capture arresting imagery that connects NMDOH to stakeholders and customers.
  • Conceptualize, script, shoot, edit, and deliver timely and engaging content.
  • Make creative recommendations for multimedia contributions to projects.
  • Independently shape video storylines and pitch project ideas.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams to identify needs and produce video stories.
  • Lead video production and serve as project manager on self-directed work.
  • Develop and manage a calendar for digital asset content creation.
  • Develop pre-production shot lists and recruit diverse talent for projects.
  • Secure permits and manage all aspects of production including setup and operation of equipment.
  • Produce and record radio scripts, voiceovers, PSAs, and podcasts as necessary.
  • Edit video efficiently and effectively, ensuring accessibility standards are met.
  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing to set marketing objectives.
  • Participate in internal and agency creative reviews for brand consistency.
  • Manage the NMDOH YouTube channel and track analytics for projects.
  • Create and maintain a searchable digital repository for media assets.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and suggest innovative practices for public engagement.
  • Film meetings, conferences, and other events as requested.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional visual storytelling and video content creation experience.
  • Must have own equipment and editing hardware/software.
  • Ability to travel within New Mexico and operate a state government-owned vehicle.
  • Physical ability to walk on uneven ground and access photo/video shoot sites.
  • Ability to lift, carry, move, and set up equipment at production sites.
  • Expert proficiency in lighting, shooting, editing, and narrative storytelling.
  • Awareness of legal guidelines and agency protocols regarding video and image licensing.
