About the position

ATA Services, Inc. is seeking to hire an experienced Videographer for a temporary assignment in Santa Fe, NM. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality video and audio content that effectively communicates the mission, vision, and values of the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) to stakeholders and customers. This role requires a strong background in visual storytelling and content creation, with a focus on producing engaging materials that support equity initiatives and various programs within the organization. The Videographer will work closely with the Communications team and collaborate with different divisions of NMDOH, including Public Health, Epidemiology Response, and Information Technology Divisions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in content creation, demonstrating the ability to meet tight deadlines while producing compelling narratives that resonate with the audience. They should be energetic, innovative, proactive, and self-directed, contributing inspired ideas and collaborating effectively with fellow creatives. The Videographer will be tasked with conceptualizing, scripting, shooting, editing, and delivering timely and innovative content that tells a story through relevant imagery and audio. In this role, the Videographer will lead video production efforts, manage projects independently, and collaborate on larger departmental initiatives. They will be responsible for all aspects of production, including securing permits, setting up and operating video, audio, and lighting equipment, directing on-location shoots, conducting interviews, and capturing b-roll footage. The position also involves editing video efficiently, ensuring accessibility, and managing the NMDOH YouTube channel while tracking analytics to inform future projects. The Videographer will also monitor emerging technologies and trends to enhance citizen engagement with public health initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create compelling, expert-level video and audio content.
• Capture arresting imagery that connects NMDOH to stakeholders and customers.
• Conceptualize, script, shoot, edit, and deliver engaging content with a fast turnaround.
• Make creative recommendations to add value to projects.
• Independently shape video storylines and pitch project ideas.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams to identify needs and produce video stories.
• Lead video production and serve as project manager on self-directed work or larger projects.
• Develop and manage a calendar for digital asset content creation.
• Develop pre-production shot lists and recruit diverse talent.
• Secure permits and manage all aspects of production including setup and operation of equipment.
• Produce/record radio scripts, voiceovers, PSAs, and podcasts as necessary.
• Edit video efficiently and export in required formats for accessibility.
• Work closely with the Director of Marketing to set marketing objectives.
• Participate in internal and agency creative reviews for brand consistency.
• Manage the NMDOH YouTube channel and track analytics.
• Create and maintain a searchable digital repository for assets.
• Monitor emerging technologies and suggest innovations for public engagement.
• Film meetings, conferences, and other events as requested.
• Create videos for Legislative presentations and special projects.

Requirements

• Must have own equipment and editing hardware/software.
• 3-5 years of professional visual storytelling and video content creation experience.
• Ability to travel within New Mexico and operate a state government-owned vehicle.
• Must be able to walk on uneven ground and access photo/video shoot sites.
• Ability to lift, carry, move, and set up equipment at production sites.
• Expert proficiency in lighting, shooting, editing, and narrative storytelling.
• Awareness of legal guidelines and agency protocols regarding video and image licensing.
