About the position

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a talented and motivated Videographer to join its Communications Team. This role involves creating and editing video content that aligns with the agency's vision and mission, contributing to marketing campaigns and promotional activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in videography and be comfortable managing multiple projects while providing excellent customer service to agency stakeholders and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Create and edit video clips for the Communication Team
  • Create compelling videos that are visually appealing
  • Filming video on set and on location
  • Working with creative teams and clients to plan video shoots
  • Setting up and taking down cameras, microphones, lighting, props and other equipment
  • Editing footage after recording
  • Adding computer graphics, closed captioning and special effects to footage

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree in fine or graphic arts from an accredited college and one year of full-time paid experience as a commercial or graphic artist
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus two years of training in a technical school approved by a state's Department of Education and three years of acceptable full-time paid experience as a commercial or graphic artist
  • At least one year of experience as a Graphic Artist, Assignment Level I for Assignment Level II
